Non-Reactivity
Drop the Positions
Let go of the compulsion to judge every event and rest in what is.
Over time1 min sessionNon-Reactivity
Why this helps
Each for/against position is a hook the world can yank, keeping you reactive.
In the moment
Setting a position down releases the charge around it.
Over time
Far less reactivity to events.
The practice
The mind loves to take sides — for and against, right and wrong, this is good, that is bad. Each position is a hook the world can yank. Dropping positions means letting go of the compulsion to judge every event, resting in "it is what it is" instead of "it should be otherwise."
When to use it
- Reactivity to news, people, or events
- Endless judging and labeling
- When "it should be different" is draining you
Instructions
- Notice a strong for/against reaction forming.
- See it as a position the mind is taking, not the truth itself.
- Set the position down — you don't have to have a verdict.
- Rest in seeing things as they are, without the should.
